it was all a dream...
Equally moved, angered, and inspired by the nation's response to the death of George Floyd and the unjust killing of BIPOC across the nation, Class of 2020 student and CDASC founder Sebastian Guerrier knew that if change must come nationally, he would have to start locally. He took to Instagram and created the 'black.cinnaminsonhigh' page where the voices of Black and minority students and alumni could be amplified and validated. 100's of personal accounts of racist, antisemite, and hateful acts demonstrated against students by teachers and peers piled in via Google Forms. The long held secret about the intolerance plaguing the Sweet Water community was finally being brought to light. Realizing that the issue was bigger than anecdotes, Sebastian sought to form a council of both student and alumni of the Cinnaminson School District to address the implicit bias within the school district and hopefully bring a day where this shared trauma between BIPOC students is no more.
